What are themes?

Themes are ways to customize your sidekick device. They are available through T-Mobile for purchase, but why bother when we've got a community here sharing them for free?

What Sidekicks are compatible?

Every theme uploaded to this site has a version for every sidekick model that is capable of loading themes. This includes the Sidekick 3, Sidekick LX, Sidekick Slide, Sidekick 2008 and Sidekick LX 2009.

Sidekick, Sidekick 2 and Sidekick ID are not capable of using themes because they do not have SD card slots.

How Do I install a theme?

Choose a theme from our site. Click download and on the download window, choose your sidekick model from the buttons. Click the button and you will begin to download a zip file. Once this file is downloaded, extract the folder inside to a location on your computer. Make sure the theme is for your specific sidekick model!

Connect your sidekick to your computer with the SD card inside, or use an SD card reader to connect the card directly to your computer. Once connected, go to "My Computer" and open the drive associated with the SD Card or Sidekick you just connected.

Locate the "themes" folder on your SD card/Sidekick. If one does not exist, create it (right-click, new -> folder in Windows).

Copy the folder you just unzipped from your computer and into the themes folder you've just located or created.

Disconnect your sidekick, or if you connected the SD card directly, remove it and place it back in your sidekick. Press the top left menu button from the home screen and then scroll to "Themes". Choose the theme you just added. It should have an SD card icon next to it.

How do I add custom ringtones?

Click here to use our Ringtone Maker and send yourself a ringtone to your sidekick email address.

Once the email comes, open it and scroll to the bottom. You may need to click "show attachments".

You should get an option to play the mp3 or "Add to Ringtones". Select play to preview it, and select "Add to Ringtones" to add it to your ringtones if you're satisfied with the quality
